It feels good to “pig out” or indulge in snacks that makes you feel full. Often, we crave something sweet or something salty, and then we end up bingeing and just blowing it and eating something high in sugar or opening up a bag of something that’s not good for us. Here are three healthy snacks that will satisfy your snacking cravings, help you avoid unhealthy binges, and keep you on track.
Air-Popped Popcorn with Truffle Parmesan Seasoning
You get a lot of volume in one serving of air-popped popcorn so you can feel like you can go to town. It’s easy and healthy- just under 120 calories per serving. The magic is in the seasoning, though. The truffle parmesan salt takes this snack to a new level. It transforms boring popcorn into a rich, salty, and satisfying treat.
Chips and Salsa (Healthy Style)
Who doesn’t like to graze on chips and salsa? So I’ve just done it the healthy way. There’s really nothing unhealthy about this snack. I’ve taken a lower carb, higher fiber tortilla and transformed it into a crispy chip. I used an air fryer, but you can bake them at 400 degrees for 5 min. This snack is 150 calories and has over 30 grams of fiber!
Root Beer Float
If you are dieting and want to squash your sweet tooth, consider trying this hack from Chris Powell. Combine a can of diet root beer and a tablespoon of heavy cream to make a root beer float. It tastes delicious, and it can help you feel full. Chris explains that after ingesting dietary fat, a message is triggered to the brain about 10-15 minutes later, telling you you’re full. I’m not a typical diet soda drinker, so I only use this occasionally, but let’s face it, it can be a helpful hack to prevent bailing on your diet or overeating.
BONUS: Protein Fluff
– 1 tub of sugar-free cool whip
